Odisha minister shot in the chest

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Naba Kishor Das, the Health Minister of Odisha. He was a beloved leader who served his state with dedication and commitment for many years.

Naba Kishor Das was a selfless leader who devoted his life to serving the people of Odisha. He was loved by everyone in the state and his sudden demise has left us all in shock and grief.

In his long career, he brought many improvements in healthcare services across Odisha and worked hard to make sure every citizen had access to good medical facilities. His legacy will live on forever as he has set an example for other politicians to follow.

Odisha Health Minister Naba Kisore Das was today shot by an assistant sub-inspector at Gandhi Chowk near Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Sunday around 1 pm. He was on his way to attend a programme when he was shot in the chest. The police officer shot two rounds, critically injuring the minister, who was rushed to a hospital. He was later airlifted to Bhubaneswar, witnesses said.

At a public grievance office opening, Naba Das was the chief guest. When he arrived, a crowd gathered to welcome him. Suddenly, loud bangs were heard. "We saw a police personnel running away after shooting from close range," a witness said.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condemned the attack, and directed the crime branch to investigate it.

The Indian team is going through a tough time in this world cup. Bumrah won't be able to play the T20 WORLD CUP

Bumrah has been out for a long time now and he will not be able to participate in the next world cup. We can't deny that he is one of the best bowlers in the world but he will miss out on the next world cup. He has been ruled out of the ongoing Twenty20 series against South Africa and is in danger of missing out on the World Cup too. He is set to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The selectors will be naming a replacement, which is likely to be Mohammed Shami. Sources within the Indian team management and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have revealed that chances of the India spearhead's recovery by the first game in the World Cup are remote but hope is not being given up. A recurring back problem is the cause of his latest injury. Having come back from a two-month injury lay-off, Bumrah played a couple of T20Is against Australia before breaking down again. The physios and the medical staff of the Indian team have informed the BCCI that h...

Shreyas Iyer to Ishan Kishan: Didn't want to intrude on your 'beast mode'

The batter reflects on his second hundred in ODIs, which helped India level the series against South Africa. Shreyas Iyer  is enjoying a purple patch, with four half-centuries and a hundred in his last six ODI innings. That's some unreal form in different conditions: from the bounce of the red-soil surface in Ahmedabad, to the sluggish pitches in the Caribbean, and biscuit-brown Ranchi. His latest innings in Ranchi   on Sunday   was only his second century in ODIs, and a special one because it helped India draw level in the series against South Africa. Iyer is just 32-ODIs old but he already has an impressive body of work. He averages 47.07 in 28 innings, striking at 98.07 - numbers that would merit selection even in a full-strength Indian XI. It's the kind of consistency India have yearned for from someone who can bat at No. 4 in ODIs, especially since the 2019 World Cup where the absence of a strong batter in that position came under intense scrutiny after their ...
